The Evening Sacrifice

The feeling remains that God is on the journey, too.
-Saint Teresa of Avila

Somewhere in silence
the heart slows
Somewhere in silence
quiet ground listens
waiting, waiting
holding its breath
listening

Silver-white moon
glides cloudless
Stars burn quiet
soundless, soundless,
night muted colors
listening

Sunset prayers tiptoe-
feet full of grace
There is no hurry
patience, patience
He waits all open
listening

Ornamental silence
cannot discover
deep Soul-to-God
quietude-
simply being, being His
unhurried and
listening

Somewhere in silence
before the world was
He heard a heart whisper
evening offerings
praying, praying
in God-time
listening

To love listening

-Kat

For some of your Evening Prayers consider fasting from words and spending a few moments in the deep-soaking-silence that allows God's thoughts to spill unfiltered into your soul. It may take practice to welcome His unfenced Presence but the rewards linger.
